We have gone through several different baby monitors to this point. This is my favorite one by far. The monitor itself seems well built and not cheap. Easy interface and it just works. Let's face it, something like this just has to work when you need it and without trouble. Screen is clear and the range is solid. No dead spots anywhere in our two story house.Easy to set up and use but the view of the room is very small. It has a zoom-in option but even zoomed out it's way too close up. Can barely fit the whole crib on the screen with the camera about 8 feet away. Also it doesn't come with any mounting hardware so has to sit on something. Now the reason for only 1 star: After getting it all hooked up and throwing the box away, my cat knocked the screen on the floor which was only about a 3 foot drop onto carpeting. Now it won't charge. When I plug it in, nothing happens. Even trying to jiggle the cord a little and still nothing. This is a product that's meant to be used for 2-3+ years in a home around kids. It should be able to handle more than one small drop onto carpeting before no longer working. It's poorly made and not durable at all. Also Graco has no sign of baby monitors anywhere on their website and the model number doesn't work so it's impossible to buy just a new screen without having to buy the whole set again. The only reason I gave this monitor 2 stars and not 1 is because it was insanely easy to set up. It is basically plug and go, which isn't common with video monitors than often need to be paired.Everything else about this monitor is frustrating. The picture quality isn't great, it reminds me of early cell phone videos, and it also has pretty noticeable lag. Since my plan was to use this as a backup monitor (and the "low"ish price point) I could overlook the lack of video quality if that had been my only complaint. The most annoying thing about this monitor is that the sound constantly cuts in and out. This wouldn't be as noticeable in a quieter setting, but I have white noise in my baby's room, so hearing the noise constantly cut in and out was driving me insane, especially overnight when I was trying to sleep. My baby's room is right next to mine so this wasn't an issue of overstretching the range of the monitor.I also could not figure out how to turn the volume down. There are only a few buttons on the monitor and most seemed to do absolutely nothing no matter what combination of pushing them I tried. I ended up having to lay the speaker against a towel to muffle the sound. The camera part has no way to mount included, so you have to set it on a surface. This would be fine if the cord then wasn't so thick and stiff that it was near impossible to get it to stay in the direction you're pointing it. This also only comes with one power supply, so both the camera and the monitor can't be plugged in at the same time. The monitor didn't hold charge through the night, so that was frustrating as well.Overall this monitor is bad. The easy connection doesn't make up for all of grief.Pros-Setup is easyCons-only one power cord-sound cuts in and out constantly-no (obvious) volume control-battery doesn't last overnight-can't mount it-doesn't easily stay where put-lag in video-poor video qualityWhat I like about this monitor is that it is simple to operate right out of the box and offers privacy. Just plug and play, no need to set up and fuss with connecting it through WiFi. The camera and monitor directly links and syncs to one another the moment it powers on. The hand held monitor comes pre-charged but only enough for you to set and test it out. It'll need to fully charge before using it full time. The baby camera needs to be plugged in at all times in order for it to work using a micro usb cord (which is included). The viewable screen is actually 1-7/8th" wide, small, yes, but practical as you only need to focus on your baby in his or her crib (not the entire room and it's decor/surrounding). The monitor is both color and night vision and while the resolution is not HD, it is clear enough to keep an eye on your baby day and night. As a bonus, there is a feature that lets you talk to baby from the monitor that directly feeds back out of the camera. This is especially useful if you are living in a bi-level home and just the sound of your voice is all that is needed to calm your baby back to sleep.I recommend this monitor because it is simple. Many moms and dads are already dealing with a lot, especially if you have a newborn, and just need something reliable and easy to use. My husband is very technologically advanced and is usually the one to set up anything that is electronic. Me, being a very pregnant wife in her nesting stage and due any moment, was not intimated to set this up on my own. It worked right out of the box and like I said, no need to connect to WiFi so it gives me peace of mind knowing the camera's can't be tapped into. I would be happy if someone gave this to me as a gift. So whether you are a new parent in need of a reliable baby monitor that doesn't cost so much or someone that is looking to give one as a gift, I highly recommend this. I deducted a star because the product title says it is a "Wireless Baby Camera" but the only unit wireless in this set is the baby monitor. The camera will need to be kept plugged in. It comes with 1 adapter and 2 micro USB cords, the longest being 5 feet long. So depending on where you place the camera, you may or may not need to substitute for a longer cord.
