Mathew Brady and His World: Historical Photography Book by Time-Life | Civil War Era Photos from Meserve Collection | Perfect for History Buffs & Collectors

This is a wonderful book, full of Civil War era pictures. Of coarse this is one of my favorite periods in history. Brady's company sent out photographers with wagons full of equipment to the battlefields of the Civil War and is one reason we have so many pictures. He also started photographing presidents starting with John Quincy Adams in his 70's. We know a lot about about this period of historic events due to Brady and his company. Their photographs gave us a picture of John Wilkes Booth at Lincoln's 2nd inauguration mere yards from Lincoln. The authors owned many of these pictures due to Dorothy Meserve Kinhardt's father and her collecting Civil War photos.
