This was the first e-book I bought for my new Kindle. As I was returning to China from holiday to teach, I finally decided not to buy any more bulky paperbacks that would add weight to my luggage (not to mention the fact that you can't make money selling used books anymore). This was the first time I had ever seen the price of the e-book to be more expensive than the paperback itself. What would be the reason for that? I thought that because of the price, there would be a wealth of new information in the book.Unfortunately for someone who has been teaching university students for 8 years, none of the activities seem useful for me, as I have been scouring the internet for years, and have taught in schools where I have seen similar games in their own curricula. It's a re-hashing of the same material over again!I usually find at least 1 or 2 good ideas from books like these to use in my classes, but this time I didn't find anything. Where's the secret "pot of gold" hidden within this book that I paid all this money for? There ARE some "photocopiable" pages in the back of the book, that could potentially be useful as a warmer or two. But if I'm paying more for the e-book and using it on a kindle, how am I supposed to be able to photocopy the pages?Thought I respect the fact that the author has such great credentials, it's a pity that I haven't found anything practical to use for my own classes.Final Note: While buying books online can be quite convenient (especially being in a foreign country) where many of the books are not available, it's unfortunate that the "look inside" feature often doesn't show the content you are actually buying the book for. It's generally just the table of contents, foreword, and the index. Therefore, you never really know what you're actually going to get.
